In December we were asked to support Southlake Health foundation to assist residents with personal items. Once again we were able to use the funds we receive from volunteering at BingoWorld in Richmond Hill.  By participating in the Richmond Hill Hall Charities association we receive funds to assist others by being a charity helping at BingoWorld.

Lions purchased Remembrance Day signs which were given to residents to display.  Our only request to them were to take them down after Remembrance Day and save for next years.

In October of 2024, the Lions were able to once again support the King Township Food Bank with a donation of $10,000.

This donation was made possible by our participation with the Richmond Hill Hall Charities Association and our volunteer work at Bingo World in Richmond Hill.  By volunteering at Bingo each charity receives a portion of the revenue.

Grand Fondu Bike Event

On July 27th, 2025 the King City Lions cooked burgers for the Grand Fondu Bike event in support of the King Township Chamber of Commerce.  This event was held at Villa Nova Secondary School and there were approximately 150 riders participating.

Supporting Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides

On June 8th, the King City Lions Club presented The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides programme with a cheque for $35,000 to sponsor a service dog.  The Dog Guides programme is owned and supported by the Lions Foundation and receives no government funding.  The mission of the Foundation is to empower Canadians with disabilities to navigate their world with confidence and independence by providing dog guides at no cost and supporting each pair in their journey together.

The picture shows King City Lions president Wayne Lowdon presenting Danielle Rosenblum Community Partnership manager for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides and Beverly Berger a local resident assisted by her dog guide with the cheque to sponsor a new service dog.

The dog guides programme trains dogs for no only sight assistance, but to help individuals with hearing challenges, seizure alert, service assistance, autism assistance, diabetes alert and facility support to assist individuals who have experienced traumatic situations.

King City Lions was able to raise this money with the assistance of Bingo World in Richmond Hill and their participation with the Richmond Hill Hall Charities association.  By attending Bingo World you are helping many charities help people in need.
